Rita Gerlach

Writing outstanding fiction that inspires readers should be the believing writer’s goal. The days we live in are increasingly difficult, and many people are discouraged. A believing writer can bring encouragement and comfort, and a respite from the world, both in Christian circles and to the unbelieving by developing characters and story lines readers can relate to.  This is the reason why I organized the Writing to Inspire Christian Writers Workshop, to help both published and aspiring Christian writers energize their callings and find fellowship among like-minded writers from various backgrounds.

Facilitator and teacher, Rita Gerlach is a best selling author of inspirational historical fiction. She’s been referred to as ‘The Queen of Scene’ by Colonial Quills, and loves bringing to life the settings of her stories as characters that shape the lives of her heroines and heroes. She is the author of the Daughters of the Potomac series, of which Romantic Times Book Review Magazine said, ‘Creating characters with intense realism and compassion is one of Gerlach’s gifts’.  Her most recent novel, After the Rain, is set during the Edwardian age and is receiving rave reviews. Rita lives in central Maryland with her husband and sons, where from her back porch she views mountains and farms that inspire her through each season.

I’d like to sign up for this workshop. It will just be myself signing up. I’ve had a dream of writing and illustrating a couple of children’s books, but need some guidance.
